Three regional teams move on in amateur baseball playoffs

Windom, Hadley and Luverne all advanced to the next round of the amateur baseball playoffs by capturing best-of-three playoff series this past weekend.

In Saturday Region 13-C playoff action, the Pipestone A’s edged the Windom Pirates, 6-5, to knot their best-of-three series at one game apiece. Windom, though, bounced back Sunday and topped Pipestone 12-1 to win the series and move on.

The Hadley Buttermakers took care of the Jackson Bulls, 9-3, on Saturday to force a game three in that series, then edged Jackson 6-5 on Sunday afternoon to advance. Meanwhile, Luverne blanked Adrian, 7-0, on Saturday to win the playoff series between those two teams, two games to none.
