S-O student in possession of weapon removed from high school
SIBLEY, Iowa – The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office was called to the Sibley-Ocheyedan High School Thursday morning to remove a student who was in possession of a weapon.
According to information released by S-O Superintendent James Craig, the high school principal was made aware that a student had brought a weapon to the school, and that report was confirmed. Authorities were contacted and the student was removed without incident.
Craig said the district emergency plan was followed, with middle and high school students being put on lockdown in their classrooms until the all-clear was given. Students and staff then resumed their normal activities.
