Nobles County Commissioners today in regular meeting voted to appoint current Patrol Sergeant Ryan Kruger to fill the term of retiring Sheriff Kent Wilkening starting July 1st. Kruger a 19-year veteran of the Nobles County force has served as a patrol deputy, a 12-year member of the Buffalo Ridge Drug Task force, and most recently as the Patrol Sergeant.
The Adrian native Kruger was among three current Nobles County employees interviewed to take the post. Deputy Jay Clarke and Chief Deputy Chris Dybevick the others. Kruger’s salary was set at $96,500. His post will serve until the end of the current election cycle through December 2022. Kruger stated in the process that he intended to run in 2022 for the position. Kruger said one goal was to work closely with the Worthington Police Department, while serving the several contracted duties with other County Municipalities the Department already has in place.
