Rushmore considering loan, grant acceptance

The Rushmore City Council is requesting public opinion on making a decision that will be considered during the council meeting at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at Rushmore City Hall.

The council will decide if it should accept a rural development 40-year-loan of $2.1 million, as well as an added grant amount of $749,000 for a new water tower and hookup to Lincoln Pipestone Rural Water for Rushmore residents. The loan will affect every Rushmore resident’s monthly water bill in the near future.

Contact City Hall at 478-4338 or a council member for more information.
