The Osceola County Fair gets underway Tuesday in Sibley and continues through Saturday.
The Cow/Calf & Pen of 3 Beef Show is scheduled to get underway at 5 p.m. Tuesday, and open class entries will be accepted from 5 to 7 p.m. Among the highlights scheduled for Wednesday are the lead beef show at 7:30 a.m., the bottle/bucket calf show at 11 a.m., the dog show at 12:30 p.m., pet show at 2:30 p.m., swine show at 3:30 p.m., 4-H barbecue from 5 to 7 p.m., the Little Miss/Fair Queen Contest at 7 p.m. and a fair board pie auction at 7:30 p.m.
On Thursday, there will be the sheep show at 7:30 a.m., goat show at 9 a.m., llama and alpaca show at 10 a.m. and dairy show at 11:30 a.m. The commercial building will open at 1 p.m., and a livestock skill-a-thon will be from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. A poultry show is slated for 2:30 p.m., and the T&C Rodeo will begin at 7 p.m. and be followed by fireworks.
A 7:30 a.m. horse show leads off Friday, and there will also a rabbit show at 4:30 p.m. Ladies Night will be from 5 to 7 p.m., and there will also be Veggie Gardening 101 during this time. A Great Plains Tractor Pull and Impact Pro Wrestling both begin at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, a chainsaw carver will be at the fairgrounds all day. Other events include a 1 p.m. kids pedal pull and a 7 p.m. Figure 8 and Demo Derby, followed by fireworks.
