Nobles, other area counties may get FEMA funds

The Federal Emergency Management Agency has announced that federal emergency aid has been made available to assist with recovery efforts in Nobles, Rock and Lyon counties, among many others, following the severe weather events of May 29-30.

The action makes federal funding available to state, tribal and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding during those two days.
