Nobles County Sheriff's Office seeks public comment on recorder policy

WORTHINGTON – The Nobles County Sheriff’s Office has developed a Portable Audio/Video Recorders policy as a draft for a body-worn camera policy.

According to Nobles County Sheriff Kent Wilkening, there has to be a policy for the recorders per state law, and a public comment period and hearing are required before it can be implemented.

The policy can be viewed on the Nobles County Sheriff website at, and comments can be submitted in writing by mail at 1530 Airport Road, Worthington 56187 or via email at Comments must be submitted by 4 p.m. January 18.

The public meeting will take place at 9 a.m. Tuesday, January 19 at the Government Center. That meeting will also provide an opportunity for public comment.
