Nobles County Sheriff's Office seeks public comment on recorder policy

WORTHINGTON – The Nobles County Sheriff’s Office has developed a Portable Audio/Video Recorders policy as a draft for a body-worn camera policy.

According to Nobles County Sheriff Kent Wilkening, there has to be a policy for the recorders per state law, and a public comment period and hearing are required before it can be implemented.

The policy can be viewed on the Nobles County Sheriff website at www.co.nobles.mn.us/departments/sheriff, and comments can be submitted in writing by mail at 1530 Airport Road, Worthington 56187 or via email at kwilkening@co.nobles.mn.us. Comments must be submitted by 4 p.m. January 18.

The public meeting will take place at 9 a.m. Tuesday, January 19 at the Government Center. That meeting will also provide an opportunity for public comment.
