MINNESOTA – For the second day in a row, a COVID-19-related death was reported in Nobles County Wednesday, bringing the county total to 13 since the pandemic began. The person who died most recently was in the 95-99 age group, according to the Minnesota Department of Health.
Fourteen new deaths were reported Wednesday, along with 542 newly diagnosed cases of the coronavirus. Only one of the new cases was local, also from Nobles County. There have now been 1,793 COVID-19 deaths in the state since the pandemic began.
There are currently 304 people hospitalized with the virus, with 134 in ICU. The MDH says there are several hospitals not reporting COVID-19 hospitalizations and ICU numbers on Saturdays and Sundays, which could skew numbers.
Of the more than 71,200 cases of the virus that have been diagnosed since the pandemic began, 64,374 no longer require isolation.
