Nobles Cooperative Electric's Operation Round Up Program recently distributed $20,100 into local communities.
The following organizations received funding:
Adrian Public School District 511-Special Education Program, $1,000; Brewster Senior Dining, $1,040; Chandler Quilters, $300; Cultural Awareness Organization/International Festival, $740; Ellsworth Public School, $2,140; Fulda Elementary School Library, $1,000; Fulda Heritage Society, $1,300; Lake Wilson Community Clothing Center, $550; Lake Wilson Fire Department, $1,740; Little Rock EMS, $430; MOPS in Slayton, $800; Murray County 4-H, $460; Murray County Early Childhood Initiative, $1,900; Nobles County Historical Society, $640; Nobles County Sheriff's Office, $450; Our Saviors Lutheran Quilters, $300; Sillerud Lutheran Church Quilters, $300; Slayton American Legion Post 64, $300; Slayton Fire Department, $660; Southwest West Central Service Cooperative, $200; St. Gabriel Quilters, $300; SWWC Foundation for Innovation in Education, $810; Town and Country Golf Club Inc., $1,540; Walnut Grove Fire Department, $1,200.
Operation Round Up also awards eight scholarships to students to help achieve their academic goals. New this year is an additional scholarship awarded to a student attending a technical college. Once these students have successfully completed one semester or quarter of higher education, the scholarship recipient is awarded $650.
Scholarship winners are Casey Miller, Jackie Vos, Sawyer Drent, Cassidy Madison, Breyer Hieronimus, Charles Brands, Courtney Weidert, Logan Barber and Brynn Peterson.
