March high temperatures were warmer than usual

March high temperatures in Worthington were once again well above normal, according to data compiled at the Worthington Wastewater Treatment plant, but low temperatures during the month were slightly cooler than average.
The average high temperature in Worthington in March was 47.2 degrees, or 7.5 degrees warmer than the average March high of 39.7. The warmest high of the month, 75 degrees, was recorded on March 12, and there were highs of 69 degrees on March 14 and 66 degrees on March 13.
The average low in Worthington in March was 20.6 degrees, or .6 degrees cooler than the normal of 21.2. The coldest temperature reading came with a reading of 7 recorded on March 23. Another single-digit reading, nine degrees, was on the 28th.
Worthington received a total of 1.51 inches of precipitation during the month of March , a precip total that's a tad higher than the 1.46 inches that's typical. Of that moisture, 1.26 inches of it were measured on March 25. There were also five inches of snow that fell over the course of the month.
For the first three months of 2024, the average high has been 36.5 degrees and the average low 17.1. That compares to typical year-to-date averages of 29.9 and 12.0, respectively. Meanwhile, this year's total precipitation of 2.5 inches is drier than the average total of 2.99 inches for this time.
