One of the passengers of a vehicle involved in a Sunday evening crash near Tracy has died as a result of his injuries.
Thai Vang, 53, was a passenger in a 2019 Toyota RAV4 that was westbound Sunday on U.S. 14 just east of Tracy when the vehicle left the road and struck some trees. Vang and a 12-year-old juvenile -- along with the vehicle’s driver, Choua Xiong of Tracy, were all transported to the Tracy Hospital.
Due to complications from injuries sustained in the accident, Vang was airlifted to Sioux Falls, where he was pronounced dead. An updated Minnesota State Patrol report notes that Vang was not wearing his seat belt.
Assistance at the scene of the crash was provided by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Tracy Fire Department, and Tracy Ambulance.
