LaVern Christianson to give presentation at Stavanger Lodge annual meeting

The Sons of Norway Stavanger Lodge will host its monthly meeting at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 20 at the Cottonwood County Historical Society Museum, 812 Fourth Ave., Windom.

During the meeting, longtime Stavanger Lodge member and former Windom Area Schools teacher LaVern Christianson will give a presentation on his new hobby of writing, which has resulted in 12 short stories in two poems since the onset of the pandemic. He will share why and how his new hobby started and describe the process he uses in writing a story from beginning to finished project. Christianson will also read a short story he has written especially for this meeting and dedicated to his friends in Stavanger Lodge.

As part of the morning, refreshments will be served for everyone to enjoy. The public is cordially invited to attend this free program.

Beginning in November through March each winter, the Lodge meets on the third Saturday morning of each month. The mission of the Sons of Norway is to promote, preserve and cherish a lasting appreciation for the heritage and culture of Norway and other Nordic cultures while growing soundly as a fraternal benefit society and offering maximum benefits to its members.
