Jackson, Wilder organizations receive SMAC grants

Two southwest Minnesota organizations have been awarded SMAC Equipment & Facilities Improvement Grants. These grants provide up to $10,000 to arts organizations for the purchase of equipment items and facilities improvements that will strengthen the organization’s capacity to serve the arts needs of the SMAC region.


The Jackson Center for the Arts has been awarded $9,915 to update lighting, electrical and venting system in the basement of the center to prepare for the installation of a community kiln, potters wheel, and to create more spaces for classes and open studio opportunities.


The Wilder Pageant in Walnut Grove has been awarded $10,000 to upgrade the presentation of their production with a fake snow machine, special lighting (Rogue Outcast II Hybrid Mving Head Light plus cables and clamps), rear screen projector, and fire burst effect (Vesuvio II Fogger plus propane delivery system).
