A news release issued by the city of Jackson states that the city is looking toward public and private partnerships and has been making strides toward a larger community with activity such as the Belmont Heights project. There will be 240 new additional units of market rate housing following its completion.
Beyond that project, the city has been making steady use of its Revolving Loan Fund, with loans to entities like the Jackson Food Shelf, Fort Belmont Association, Jackson Chamber of Commerce and more, including local businesses, the news release said.
Also addressed in the release is the Little Huskies Learning Center, and it's noted that the community is not alone with its child care struggles. As operating costs for a child care center in Greater Minnesota are far greater than what parents can afford, the release states, public/private partnerships are critical to keep it available.
