Heron Lake-Okabena moves to distance learning due to staff shortage

HERON LAKE – OKABENA – Due to a staff shortage resulting from a significant number of critical staff in quarantine, Heron Lake-Okabena School will switch to a temporary distance learning mode, effective Thursday, November 5 through Friday, November 13.


K through 12 will all switch to distance learning, with the intent of returning students to in-person instruction Monday, November 16.


Parents/guardians who would like to pick up a school lunch during distance learning should contact the high school office at 507-853-4507 between 8:30-9. Lunch pick up will be at the elementary school from 11:30-12:30. Daycare is available for elementary students of Tier I workers - please contact elementary office if needed.
