Students from Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn were among those who met with U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley on Monday during a visit to Washington, D.C..
Grassley and the students discussed what made the senator interested in politics, the hardest and best parts of his job and who he knew when he started as a senator. They also talked about current events in Iowa, what he does in his free time and the farm bill when they met on the steps of the U.S. Capitol.
Grassley makes it a priority to meet with Iowa students visiting the nation’s capital. Grassley also routinely visits high schools in Iowa to answer questions about issues from students and faculty.
