WORTHINGTON – A newly revised flood plain map was approved this week by the Worthington City Council that goes into effect by the end of the year. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has certified and approved a Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) for work done on County Ditch 12 in Worthington.
The area revised takes the number of parcels in the flood plain from more than 600 down to 266. Homeowners affected by the change will be contacted by the city via letter.
The current map revisions are currently under a 90-day appeal period that ends December 2, 2020. The new maps, assuming no appeals, will go into effect December 31, 2020. The approved maps are available for viewing on the City of Worthington website at ci.worthington.mn.us.
