About 500 Federated Rural Electric members in Jackson County lost power at 6:31 p.m. Wednesday, July 28. Members lost power due to a Great River Energy transmission line outage.

“Federated thanks members for their patience,” stated George Madden, Federated’s operations manager. “Our crews patrolled the line and then backfed power to the Miloma substation at 7:38 p.m. After doing more investigating looking for the cause between the two substations, Federated crews backfed power to the West Lakefield substation.”

Great River Energy crews patrolled their transmission lines Thursday morning to determine the cause and restore power.
