WORTHINGTON - Minnesota West Community & Technical College has announced they will be moving forward with competing in Men’s Soccer, Men & Women’s Trapshooting, Women’s Golf, Football and Volleyball for the 2021 fall season.
A news release states they will continue to work with the Minnesota Department of Health regarding safety guidelines for players and fans.
Minnesota West President Terry Gaalswyk said the devotion of current student-athletes and coaching staff to academics and adhering to return-to-play protocols in the midst of the winter season evidences their character.
Robert Purcell, Minnesota West Men’s Athletics Director, said coaches understand the important of the COVID-19 issues, but want to prove they can have sports in a safe way.
“Our students need to have a little normal back in their lives,” he added.
