Don't miss the Small Business Assistance Grant deadline

WORTHINGTON – September 15 is coming up fast, which has local officials reminding business owners to apply for the Small Business Assistance Grant, which is funded through federal CARES Act dollars, and has been set aside for those businesses that suffered financial loss due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Business owners in the City of Worthington and Nobles County can go to three different websites to find the application and a list of frequently asked questions. All of the information is available at the city website at, the county website at or the Radio Works website at

Applications can be emailed to or printed and brought into Worthington City Hall by 5 p.m. Tuesday, September 15. They can also be mailed to PO Box 279, Worthington, MN 56187.

Any business with less than 50 full time equivalent employees that has lost 10 percent revenue since March 1 compared to last year or was restricted from operating above 50 percent capacity by executive order could qualify. The business must have an active registration through the Minnesota Secretary of State.

Any of the CARES Act funding that is not used will be remanded back to the State of Minnesota.
