MINNESOTA – Another Nobles County resident has died of COVID-related issues, bringing the county’s death toll to 16, according to information released Wednesday by the Minnesota Department of Health. The person who died was in the 85-89 age range.
Seven deaths in total were reported Wednesday across the state, along with 513 newly diagnosed cases of the coronavirus. Locally, three new cases were reported in Nobles County, along with two in Pipestone County.
The number of deaths attributed to the virus across the state is now at 1,933, and there are currently 244 people hospitalized with COVID-19, with 136 in ICU. Hospitalization numbers inched up from Tuesday but the overall trend is down so far in September compared to August.
Over 1.7 million tests have been completed on 1.2 million people. Just over 85,800 cases have been diagnosed, with just under 79,600 no longer requiring isolation.
