Residents in Nobles County will soon be receiving their proposed property tax statement for 2024 in the mail. This statement reflects the not to exceed levies that have been set by all of the taxing districts in Nobles County.
Nobles County, along with all of the school districts and cities (with more than 500 residents), are required to host a public meeting so that residents can learn more about the budget process and provide input on the budget, which determines what the final levy will be set at for each taxing district. The date, time and location of those meetings will be listed on the proposed tax statement along with who to contact if you have questions or input.
Property owners who are eligible for a homestead classification are encouraged to check the property classification on the statement to make sure that their property is classified as “homestead” if they are eligible. If the classification is incorrect, it is important to reach out to the Assessor’s Office at assessor@co.nobles.mn.us or 507-295-5208 so it can be corrected before Dec. 31.
Homestead application forms are available at: www.co.nobles.mn.us/departments/assessor and must be returned no later than Dec. 31, 2023 to get the homestead credit on your 2024 taxes.
