In additional business conducted Monday night during the Worthington City Council’s meeting, a rental agreement between the city and District 518 was approved for rental of Memorial Auditorium for the next three years.
The agreement includes an approximately 4% increase for each of the three years of the new rental agreement contract. Rent will be $35,000 for the 12-month period from July 1 of this year through June 30, 2024. It will move to $36,500 for the next 12-month period and $38,000 in the next year of the agreement.
Also Monday, council members approved a plat that divides Prairie Justice Center land into three portions, with the usage for each yet to be determined. The council also opted to eliminate a conditional use permit requirement from June 2021 for a fence behind the JBS Fieldhouse. It’s possible that council members will consider plans for a fence or other type of barrier behind the city’s other nearby properties in the future.
Additionally, council members gave the go-ahead for a new comprehensive housing study. Maxfield Research & Consulting will do the work at a cost of $17,500.
