City to make forward step on Aquatic Center

WORTHINGTON – On Monday, the Worthington City Council will be asked to approve plans and authorize advertisement for bids for the Worthington Aquatic Center project, which will be funded as part of Phase I of the local option sales tax projects.

The Aquatic Center Committee, which includes Councilors Chad Cummings and Larry Janssen, have approved the project design. The improvements will add 9,875 square feet of new pool area and includes a zero-depth splash area, recreation pool, slides and a lazy river. A separate bathhouse, driveway and parking area complete the project.

With council approval, bids for the project would be received May 26 and considered at a special meeting the following week.
