Brewster native named USS Illinois commander

PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii – During a ceremony Dec. 11 at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Brewster native Commander Daniel McNab of the U.S. Navy was named the commanding officer of the USS Illinois, a Virginia-class fast-attack submarine assigned to Submarine Squadron One.

McNab, the youngest son of Leo and Mary Anne McNab, is a 1997 Sioux Valley-Round Lake-Brewster graduate.

The change of command relieved Capt. Aaron Peterson, of Scotland, South Dakota.
