Worthington man charged in solicitation case
WORTHINGTON - A Worthington man was charged Wednesday in Nobles County District Court with one count of prostitution after allegedly trying to hire someone he believed to be an adult male for sexual acts.
Larry Michael Davis, age 70, is charged with a gross misdemeanor count of prostitution by a patron.
The complaint states on January 3, Davis began communicating with an undercover peace officer he believed was an adult male via social media. The communications were reportedly sexual in nature and involved paying for sexual acts.
On January 8 and 9, Davis had more communication with the undercover officer, and agreed to meet him at the public library in Worthington. The officer walked up to Davis' vehicle, opened the door and asked if they were going to do this. Davis allegedly replied, "Yes."
While being arrested, Davis allegedly tried to hide his cell phone under his leg. Upon his arrest, Davis had more than $500 in his wallet.
At the law enforcement center, Davis declined to speak with investigators. He was booked and released, and is scheduled to make a court appearance February 11.
