Metal shavings cripple traffic on MN 60
WORTHINGTON - Travelers between Windom and Worthington got a nasty surprise Monday after a semi drove down Minnesota 60 scattering a load of metal trim and shavings. According to Minnesota State Police Sgt. Troy Christianson, the semi that was hauling scrap was eventually stopped, but not before multitudes of vehicles ended up with flat tires.
"MNDoT is on the scene picking things up with two magnet trucks," Christianson said shortly after 1 p.m. "They should have it cleaned up pretty quickly."
One report from a motorist said he saw as many as 30 vehicles on the side of the road with flat tires.
