WORTHINGTON - The cutting of fiber optic cables has been a problem in several areas lately, and it has happened again.
According to Chad Loosbrock, an outside plant technician with CenturyLink, a fiber optic cable was cut in Owatonna, which will lead to an outage of 6 to 8 hours in southwest Minnesota. CenturyLink provides internet, phone and tv service.
Loosbrock said he was not sure if the cut cable will affect other companies.
