UPDATED: Bus vs tractor collision results in minor injuries, major damage
JACKSON - According to information released by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, a Monday night crash between a bus and a tractor resulted in multiple injuries, all of which were considered minor.
Authorities received a call at 7:13 p.m. regarding a crash near the intersection of County Road 34 and Highway 86 in rural Lakefield. At the scene, deputies learned the bus, owned by Parks Marina in Okoboji, Iowa, had been eastbound on CR34 when the tractor pulled out of a driveway and the two vehicles collided. The bus sustained major damage to the front passenger side, while the tractor had damage throughout.
The accident remains under investigation.

Driver of the 1086 1976 International tractor: Doug Hanson, age 63, from rural Lakefield. Transported to an area hospital for minor injuries.
Driver of the 1994 Thomas Built bus: Donald Olsen, age 72, from Milford, Iowa. Bus was travelling east bound on CR 34. The tractor was facing east but going in reverse blowing snow from the roadway when they collided. There were 20 passengers on the bus. Three were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries:
- Jordan Schau, age 24, from Spencer, Iowa
- Steven Koop, age 24, from Estherville, Iowa
- Angela Bodle, age 35, from Estherville, Iowa
