WORTHINGTON - Minnesota West Community & Technical College Worthington Campus will have Homecoming Coronation at 7 p.m. tonight in the Center for Performing and Fine Arts Theater. King and Queen, Prince and Princess will be crowned following entertainment. This event is free and open to the public.

WILMONT - Wilmont Fire & Rescue will host a fundraiser breakfast from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday at the Wilmont Fire Hall. Proceeds will be used for new fire equipment. Freewill donations will be accepted.

WORTHINGTON - The Governmental Affairs Committee of the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce will host a forum Thursday in the Worthington High School band room between Nobles County Commissioner and Worthington City Council candidates.

WORTHINGTON - Minnesota West Community & Technical College Athletic department will host a Pork Chop supper at the Elks Lodge in Worthington on Saturday, October 15th serving from 5 to 7 p.m. All proceeds will support the Minnesota West Bluejay Booster Club.

WORTHINGTON - After plenty of conversation, the Worthington City Council on Monday approved a gap funding request to be used in the proposed building of a 31-unit, 124-bed student housing project on the campus of Minnesota West Community and Technical College.

The request was brought forward by the Southwest Minnesota Housing Partnership, but there is another developer also interested in the project. What the council approved was $900,000 of gap funding at a percentage rate not-to-exceed prime, which will come from a fund set aside from the sale of hospital for housing stock development. Those terms would apply to all qualified parties who submit proposals to Minnesota West.

WORTHINGTON - The Worthington Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in locating a missing person.

Edwin Castillo is a 23 year old developmentally disabled Hispanic Male who is approximately 5 feet tall, weighs approximately 150 lbs, and has brown eyes and black hair. Castillo does not drive, and may have left the house on foot.

He was last seen at approximately 1 p.m. Saturday, wearing a red sweater or jacket, gray pants and no shoes. His photo is available on the Worthington Police Department Facebook page.

WORTHINGTON - As of 6:25 p.m., the Worthington Police Department has located Edwin Castillo, who has been missing since Saturday afternoon. He was found safe in the city of Worthington and has been reunited with his family.
