WORTHINGTON - The Marketing Committee of the Worthington Area Convention & Visitors Bureau is seeking applications for the 2017 Winterfest Royalty. The Winterfest Snow Queen, Snow Prince and Snow Princess will be ambassadors for Worthington at various community events throughout the year.

WORTHINGTON — District 518 School Board member Ann Mills has announced she is resigning from her position on the board as she is moving out of the state. Mills began her tenure on the board in January 2015, and will leave with two years remaining on her term.

WORTHINGTON - The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development has awarded a grant to the company building a proposed 72-unit apartment complex of workforce housing in Worthington.

The city sponsored the application to DEED, as a direct grant is not allowed to the private sector, and this week North Development Group and city officials learned the $868,000 would be awarded.

WORTHINGTON - The Worthington City Council on Monday approved the purchase of the former Dollar General site for the purpose of relocating the municipal liquor store from its Diagonal Road site.

WORTHINGTON - A stolen car and a police pursuit ended with a crash Saturday night. Two people who stole a car from the Prairie Justice Center parking lot ended the evening in the hospital.
